 H.  The HF systems use 3 phase, 115-volt, 400Hz AC power. The HF-1 system uses essential electronic bus No. 1 power taken from the P18-2 circuit breaker panel. The number 2 HF system (if installed), uses electronic bus No. 2 power taken from the P6-1 circuit breaker panel.
 I.  On airplanes with HF transceiver adapters installed, the HF communication transceivers are also supplied with 28-volt DC power.
 2.  Control Panel_____________
 A.  AIRPLANES WITH COLLINS 522-2457-037 HF CONTROL PANELS; The HF control panel can select any one of 28,000 channels, spaced 1 kHz apart in the 2.000- to 29.999-MHz range. The HF control panel contains four frequency select knobs, a frequency display, RF SENS knob and a mode select switch. The RF SENS knob controls rf gain in the receiving section of the HF transceiver. The mode select switch (referred to as the mode switch) turns the system off (OFF), selects upper sideband (USB), lower sideband (LSB) and amplitude modulation (AM). The HF control panel is located on the pilot's control stand.
 B.  AIRPLANES WITH THE GABLES-3852 HF CONTROL PANEL; The dual HF control panel can select any one of 28,000 channels spaced 1 kHz apart in the 2.000 to 29.999 MHz frequency range. Each half of the HF control panel contains a frequency display and the following function control knobs. The left outer frequency select knob selects megahertz, the left inner frequency select knob selects 100 kHz parts, the right outer frequency select knob selects 10 kHz parts, and the right inner frequency select knob selects 1 kHz parts of the frequency. The RF SENS knob controls rf gain in the receiving section of the HF transceiver. The mode select switch (referred to as the mode switch) turns the system off (OFF), selects upper sideband (USB), lower sideband (LSB) and amplitude modulation (AM).
 3.  HF Transceiver______________
 A.  The HF transceiver is a tray-type unit. For HF transceivers with adapters, the HF transceiver is located in the electronic equipment rack, shelf E2-3. For HF transceivers without adapters, the HF transceiver is located on the aft equipment rack, E6-2. Electrical connection is made through a multipin connector located at the rear of the HF transceiver. Antenna line connection is made at the front of the HF transceiver adapter.
