Do the procedure for devices that are sensitive to electrostatic discharge (AMM 20-40-12/201).

Install the REU on the E2-1 shelf in the Electronics Equipment Compartment (AMM 20-10-07/201).

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag and close these circuit breakers:
(a) P6 Load Control Center - Right
1) C83, CAPT AUDIO
2) C84, INPH AND WARN
3) C85, BS AUDIO
4) C86, F/O AUDIO
5) C239, CAPT NO. 2 INTPH PWR
6) C240, CAPT BAT INTPH PWR
7) C560, F/O NO. 2 INTPH PWR
8) C561, F/O BAT INTPH PWR

Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

(5) Do a Test of the Remote Electronics Unit:
(a)
Push the FLT INT or INT microphone selector switches on all audio selector panels (ASPs). 1) Make sure the LED light comes on, on all ASPs.
(b)
Make voice communication between captain's, first officer's and observer's stations by use of the boom mic/headsets. 1) Make sure the communication can be made on all stations.
(c)
Push the PA microphone selector switch on the captain's ASP. 1) Make sure the LED light comes on.
(d)
Make voice announcement. 1) Make sure you hear a clear voice from the PA speakers.
(e)
Push the FLT INT or INT microphone selector switch on the captain's ASP. 1) Make sure the LED light comes on.
(f)
Make voice communication between the captain's station and the ground crew at the nose wheel well area. 1) Make sure the communication can be made.
(g)
Make a connection on the flight interphone system between the captain's position and the first officer's position.
(h)
Make a connection on the flight interphone system between the captain's position and the observer's position.
(i)
Make a connection on the flight interphone system between the first officer's position and the observer's position.
(j)
Make a voice announcement between the captain's, the first officer's, and the observer's positions. 1) Make sure you hear clear voice announcements on the
headphones. 2) Make sure you hear clear voice announcements on the speakers.

Put the Airplane Back to the Usual Condition:
(a)
Put all the hand microphones back in the holders.
(b)
Put the ASP back to the usual condition.
(7)
Remove electrical power if it is not necessary (AMM 24-22-00/201).

AUDIO ACCESSORY UNIT - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. This procedure contains these tasks:
(1)
The removal of the Audio Accessory Unit (AAU).
(2)
The installation of the AAU which contains an operational test of the installed AAU.
B. The AAU is located on the E2-1 shelf in the Electronics Equipment compartment. The unit is electrostatic discharge sensitive, so you must use a precaution handling method when you replace it.
