 4. Procedure
_________
 (Ref. Fig. 402/TASK 21-61-00-991-002) Subtask 21-61-00-210-054
 A. Inspect the ram-air outlet flap for backlash (Ref. TASK 21-61-52-200-001).
 (1) If the backlash is more than 20 mm (0.7874 in.) you must:
 (a)
Remove the air outlet flap (Ref. TASK 21-61-52-000-002).
 (b)
Temporarily secure the air-outlet flap actuator and the disconnected electrical connector to the aircaft structure.
 (c)
Retain the removed components and the air outlet flap. NOTE : These must remain with the aircraft until you do the
____ reactivation of the air outlet flap.
 Subtask 21-61-00-210-055
 B. Check of the Air-Outlet Flap Gap NOTE : This work step is not necessary if the air outlet flap has been
____
 removed.
 (1) Do a check of the air-outlet flap gap with hand load pressure applied (dimension A). (Ref. Fig. 403/TASK 21-61-00-991-008)
 (a)
If the air-outlet flap gap is more than 40 mm (1.5748 in.) do the work steps in paras:
 -4. E, F, G, and H and,
 -5. A and B.
 (b)
If the air-outlet flap gap is less than 40 mm (1.5748 in.) carry on with the deactivation task.
