4. Procedure

A. Measurement and Adjustment of the Ram-Air Outlet Flap
(Ref. Fig. 501/TASK 21-61-52-991-004)
NOTE : To adjust the ram-air outlet flap you must only use the procedures
____ which follow. Do not try to adjust the ram-air flap by repositioning the flap operating lever around the flap splined shaft (Ref. TASK 21-61-52-400-002).
(1)
Disconnect the electrical connector (3).
(2)
Put blanking caps on the disconnected electrical connectors.
(3)
Initial Measurement
(a)
Measure the distance A between the end surface (9) of the flap actuator (4) and the shoulder of the jack screw (10) (Ref. Fig. Sheet 2).
(b)
On the base scale of the graph make a mark of this Measured Distance "A" (Ref. Fig. Sheet 3).
(c)
With the aid of the graph find the required distance 'B' (required ram-air outlet gap) on the vertical scale of the graph.
(d)
At the air outlet flap (11), measure the actual distance "B" (Ref. Fig. Sheet 2).
NOTE : The measurement must be made with hand pressure applied to
