NOTE:
Steps 1 through 4 cause DU 2 to be unpowered, DU 6
to “Red X” and the copilot’s PFD to auto-transfer to DU
5. Selecting SYMBOL GENERATOR CONTROL to
NORM-ALT-ALT on the SG Reversionary Panel will
restore the copilot’s displays to normal. DU 2 will
remain unpowered for the remainder of the flight.
FOR APPROACH AND LANDING:
NOTE:
If the Standby Electrical Power system is interrupted
during the following steps, cycle the STANDBY
ELECTRICAL POWER STBY ELEC Switch OFF, then
ON.
6. Landing Gear Handle .................................................................................DOWN
7. Flaps ......................................................................................SET FOR LANDING
8. Emergency Batteries (EMERG POWER)........................................................ON
9. Ground Spoilers (GND SPLR) .......................................................................OFF
10. Power Setting...........................MAINTAIN 67% HP RPM UNTIL TOUCHDOWN
NOTE:
Once the airplane is on the ground, there is no need to
continue to maintain 67% HP RPM. The Standby
Electrical Power system will stay on line during normal
taxi maneuvers. If the Standby Electrical Power
system is interrupted, cycle the STANDBY
ELECTRICAL POWER STBY ELEC Switch OFF, then
ON, to regain power.
11. Reverse Thrust................................................................................DO NOT USE
ON TOUCHDOWN:
12. Flight Spoilers ................MANUALLY DEPLOY SLOWLY (APPROXIMATELY 5
SECONDS)
13. Airplane .........................................................STOP USING NORMAL BRAKING
05-07-30: Electrical System - Battery Only Operation
WHEN ANY ELECTRICAL CONDITION REQUIRES OPERATION ON BATTERIES
ONLY, PROCEED AS FOLLOWS:
OPERATING MANUAL
EXPANDED ABNORMAL / EMERGENCY PROCEDURES 05-07-00

October 11/01
Revision 5
1. ESS DC BUS BATT Switch..............................................................................ON
2. BATT 1 / BATT 2 Switches ..............................................................................ON
3. Crossflow (X FLOW)....................................................................................OPEN
4. Fuel Boost Pumps (One MAIN Only) ..........................ON (ALL OTHERS OFF)
5. L/R FUEL PRESS LOW Warning Messages ................................CHECK / OUT
CAUTION
IMMEDIATE DESCENT TO APU START ENVELOPE
(15,000 FT / 250 KCAS) SHOULD BE INITIATED.
ATTEMPT MAXIMUM OF TWO (2) THIRTY SECOND
APU START ATTEMPTS. IF APU START IS UNSUCCESSFUL,
MAINTAIN 15,000 FT MSL OR BELOW
(MSA PERMITTING) AND SELECT LAST FUEL
BOOST PUMP OFF.
6. ELECTRIC MASTER LEFT PWR / RIGHT PWR / AUX PWR.......................OFF
7. All Non-Essential Items .................................................................................OFF
NOTE:
Two (2) DUs will be powered with batteries only.
Consideration should be given to selecting one or both
to OFF if the situation permits.
8. UTILITY PUMP ....................................................................OFF / AS REQUIRED
NOTE:
If the Utility Pump is left armed (OFF/ARM switch
selected to ARM), it will run continuously when only
Battery Essential power is available to the airplane.
05-07-40: Alternator/Converter Failure - Single
L-R AC POWER FAIL (AMBER)
L-R DC POWER FAIL (AMBER)
With one (1) Alternator/Converter inoperative, monitor and limit loads to less than 100%
DC and 100% AC. This can be accomplished by switching off equipment as necessary.
Failure of an Alternator/Converter will be indicated by the amber messages listed above
or abnormal meter readings.
Converters are protected by overvoltage/undervoltage logic and overfrequency/
underfrequency logic. When limits are exceeded, the converter will trip OFF and
automatic bus transfer to a good power source will occur. Indications of bus transfer will
be displayed on the EPMP.
1. Affected Converter AC and DC Loads / Voltages..................................CHECK
2. ELECTRIC MASTER LEFT PWR (Or RIGHT PWR) Switch......OFF, WAIT TEN
(10) SECONDS, THEN ON
IF VOLTAGE IS PRODUCED, AUTOMATIC TRANSFER BACK TO THIS SOURCE
WILL OCCUR. IF VOLTAGE IS NOT PRODUCED OR READING IS UNUSUAL OR IF
CONVERTER TRIPS OFF AGAIN:

3. ELECTRIC MASTER LEFT PWR (Or RIGHT PWR) Switch ...............OFF (FOR
REMAINDER OF FLIGHT)
If below 15,000 ft, it is recommended that the APU be started as a source of
supplemental electrical power. See Section 05-04-20, APU Inflight Operation:
