Miscompare in 28V DC
power supplies or in
nutcracker switches.
OR:
ANTI SKID switch
selected to OFF or
system circuit problems.
OR:
Auxiliary hydraulic
system fails to energize
or pressure fails to rise
within three (3) seconds
after brake pedals are
depressed.
See Section 05-02-40, Anti-Skid
Failure (HMAB).
AOA HEAT 1-2 FAIL Angle of attack probe
heater failed.
Check circuit breakers (CBs):
• AOA PRB HTR #1: Copilot’s
Aft Panel, L-14
• AOA PRB HTR #2: Copilot’s
Aft Panel, M-14
If normal, avoid icing conditions
if possible. If flight into icing
conditions is unavoidable, pull
appropriate Stall Warning
Computer CB and monitor other
system:
• STALL WARN CMPTR #1:
Copilot’s Overhead, A-12
• STALL WARN CMPTR #2:
Copilot’s Overhead, B-12
Full stall barrier protection is
provided by the operative
system.
AP OFF Autopilot disconnected
by other than normal
means.
Press Autopilot Disconnect (AP
DISC) button to clear message,
or reengage autopilot.
AP TRIM FAIL Autotrim function of
AFGCS has failed.
Verify PITCH TRIM switch is
engaged (DISEN legend
extinguished).
If PITCH TRIM switch DISEN
legend is extinguished:
(1) Grasp yoke securely
(expect out of trim
condition).
(2) Disconnect autopilot.
(3) Retrim airplane.
(4) Attempt to determine
problem.
APU ALT BRG FAIL Alternator main bearing
has failed and is
operating on auxiliary
bearing.
Operation on auxiliary bearing
can continue for fifteen (15)
hours at full load or fifty (50)
hours at no load. Message will
remain displayed. Time of
occurrence should be recorded.
APU ALT HOT APU alternator
temperature above 300°
F (149° C).
Shut off APU alternator using
ELECTRIC MASTER, AUX
PWR switch.

OFF or start APU.
AUX AC POWER FAIL Power output from APU
alternator has failed or
dropped off line.
Select ELECTRIC MASTER,
AUX PWR switch OFF, then
ON. If condition remains
unchanged, select ELECTRIC
MASTER, AUX PWR switch
OFF. If necessary, see Section
05-04-40, APU Alternator
Failure.
AUXILIARY HYD HOT Auxiliary hydraulic pump
case temperature above
300° F (149° C).
Select auxiliary hydraulic pump
OFF, if practicable.
BAGGAGE DOOR
(SN 1000-1389 having
ASC 415B; SN 1390 &
subs.)
Baggage door is open
or unlocked.
Close and lock baggage door
as required.
BATT 1-2 CHGR FAIL Battery or Battery
Charger has failed, or
input power CB is open.
(1) Check BATTERY
CHARGER CB(s) on PDB.
(a) If open, close CB.
(b) If CHGR FAIL remains
displayed, deactivate
battery charger by
pulling CB. CHGR
FAIL will remain
displayed.
(2) If CB is closed, battery or
battery charger has failed.

BATT ON BUS Essential DC Bus
powered by batteries
only.
See Section 05-07-90, Essential
DC ESS ON BATT DC Bus On Battery Power.
(Added by ASC 415 for

L-R BLEED AIR HOT Bleed air temperature is
above 550° F (288° C).
(1) Select appropriate BLEED
AIR switch to OFF.
(2) When annunciation is
extinguished:
(a) Select ISOLATION
