See Section 05-05-10, Emergency Brakes (Brake-By-Wire).
IF BRAKING IS AVAILABLE ON ONE (1) STRUT:
7. Landing / Braking Conditions ...........................................CHECK / EVALUATE
If braking is available on one (1) strut, stopping the airplane on a dry runway with
operative nose wheel steering is possible if braking is commenced at lower
speeds. Expect longer landing distances.
IF LEFT AND RIGHT BRAKE PRESSURE IS AVAILABLE:
8. Normal Braking...............................................................................................USE
If left and right brake pressure is available, the BRAKE FAIL message is
erroneous. Use normal braking.
05-06-20: BRAKE FAIL Message (HMAB)
FOR AIRPLANES SN 1183, AND SN 1214 AND SUBSEQUENT WITH
HYDROMECHANICAL ANALOG BRAKE (HMAB) SYSTEM INCORPORATED:
BRAKE FAIL (AMBER)
Loss of Combined and Auxiliary Hydraulic System pressure that occurs when brake
pedals are depressed while Auxiliary Hydraulic Pump (AUX PUMP) is ARMED will cause
an amber BRAKE FAIL message to be displayed on CAS.
IF WARNING OCCURS IN FLIGHT:
1. Applied Brake Pressure ................................SELECT FOR DISPLAY ON DU 4
2. Hydraulic Pressures .................................................................................CHECK
IF COMBINED HYDRAULIC SYSTEM PRESSURE IS NORMAL:
3. AUX PUMP.......................................................................................................OFF
4. ANTI SKID........................................................................................................OFF

5. Brakes .........................................................................................................APPLY
IF APPLIED BRAKE PRESSURE IS NORMAL, THE MESSAGE WAS FALSE.
PROCEED WITH STEPS 6, 9 AND 10:
6. AUX PUMP.................................................................................................ARMED
IF COMBINED HYDRAULIC SYSTEM HAS FAILED:
7. AUX PUMP ..........................................................................................ARMED/ON
8. Brakes .........................................................................................................APPLY
9. ANTI SKID .........................................................................................................ON
10. INBD ANTI SKID / OUTBD ANTI SKID CBs .......................................VERIFY IN
• INBD ANTI SKID: Copilot’s Overhead Panel, A-2 (or Pilot’s Aft Panel, J-14)
• OUTBD ANTI SKID: Copilot’s Overhead Panel, B-2 (or Pilot’s Aft Panel,
K-14)
IF WARNING OCCURS DURING LANDING:
11. PARK/EMERG BRAKE..................................................................AS REQUIRED
See Section 05-05-20, Emergency Brakes (HMAB).
05-06-30: BRAKE MAINTENANCE REQUIRED Message (HMAB)
FOR AIRPLANES SN 1183, AND SN 1214 AND SUBSEQUENT:
BRAKE MAINT REQ’D (BLUE)
A wheel speed miscompare lasting more than five (5) seconds will cause a blue BRAKE
MAINT REQ’D message to be displayed on CAS.
IF MESSAGE OCCURS IN FLIGHT:
1. Condition..........................................................INVESTIGATE AFTER LANDING
If the message is displayed in flight, investigate after landing. This message may
be displayed if the landing gear is left down after takeoff and there is a difference
in wheel spindown rates.
IF MESSAGE OCCURS ON GROUND:
2. Anti-Skid Test ..................................PERFORM AT TEN (10) KNOTS OR LESS
If the message is displayed on the ground, limited troubleshooting can be
accomplished by performing an Anti-Skid System test at a speed of ten (10) knots
or less.
IF ANTI-SKID FAIL MESSAGE IS DISPLAYED DURING ANTI-SKID TEST (ON
GROUND ONLY):
3. Fault............................................................................ISOLATE WITH SCB TEST
If the amber ANTI-SKID FAIL message is displayed during the Anti-Skid System
test, a fault exists that can be isolated by performing system test on the Skid
Control Box (SCB).
05-06-40: BRAKE PEDAL Message (Brake-By-Wire)
BRAKE PEDAL (AMBER)
An inoperative or malfunctioning brake pedal transducer is indicated by an amber
BRAKE PEDAL message displayed on CAS.
1. ANTI SKID .........................................................................................................ON
2. Applied Brake Pressure ................................SELECT FOR DISPLAY ON DU 4
3. BRAKE NUTCRKR ORIDE.........................DEPRESS AND HOLD FOR STEP 4
