Check that engine cowl is closed and all latches are fastened. Check that all
intake and exhaust ports are open and clear. Verify no obvious damage to
exhaust or indications of distress.
68. Left Thrust Reverser.........................................CHECK / PROPERLY STOWED
Check thrust reverser and surrounding area for damage and hydraulic leakage.
NOTE:
If the lower thrust reverser door leading edge is
sagged out of normal contour, report for maintenance
action before next flight.
69. Baggage Door .........................................................................................SECURE
70. Service Door............................................................................................SECURE
Check that all items inside service door are secure and ensure access door is
secure.
LEFT WHEEL WELL:
71. Left Main Wheel Well Area.......................................................................CHECK
Check for general condition and any evidence of leaks, chafing, or wear. Check
Main and Alternate Fuel Boost Pumps and AUX Pump for general condition and
leaks. Check that main wheel brake fuses are closed (perpendicular), and not
leaking.

IF MAIN GEAR UPLOCK IS NOT OPEN:
A. Hydraulic Pressure ................................................................DISSIPATED
B. Main Gear Door Control Valve Pin.............................................INSTALL
C. External Battery Switch ........................................................................ON
D. Ground Service Valve ...............................................................ACTIVATE
Moving ground service valve handle aft activates the AUX pump, in turn
providing hydraulic pressure to open main gear uplock.
WHEN UPLOCK IS OPEN:
E. Ground Service Valve................................................................RELEASE
F. External Battery Switch ......................................................................OFF
73. Left Main Gear Ground Lock (Safety Pin) ...........................................REMOVE
74. Left Main Gear Strut / Fairing..................................................................CHECK
Check that fairing door is properly secured and free from damage. Check main
gear strut for condition, and proper extension.
75. Left Main Gear Tires / Brakes..................................................................CHECK
Check tires for condition, inflation, tread wear and cuts. Check brakes for general
condition, hydraulic leaks, metal cracks and wear indication.
76. Left Main Wheel Flange Retaining Rings (Inboard / Outboard)...........CHECK
Check that retaining ring between tire and wheel is secure and undamaged. This
ring ensures security and integrity of tire/wheel assembly.
77. Left Main Door Control Valve...................FLIGHT POSITION / PIN REMOVED
Remove main gear door control valve pin from valve. The valve actuating arm
should then go to the flight position (it is heavily spring loaded to this normal
operating position). The valve handle should not be allowed to snap back under
spring pressure because it will eventually affect normal functioning of valve.
LEFT WING AND FUSELAGE:
78. Left Flap / Spoilers / Aileron....................................................................CHECK
Check surfaces for damage, security of attach points, condition of all actuators,
plumbing, and cables forward of flap. Check condition of flap rollers.
79. Left Static Wicks (3) .................................................................................CHECK
Check that static wicks are properly secured and free from damage.
