Hand Avionics Bay
AFT BAG SMOKE (RED) (1)
RADIO RACK SMOKE (RED) (2)
SMOKE DETECT (RED)
(1) For SPZ-8400 equipped aircraft.
(2) For SPZ-8400 and SPZ-8000 equipped aircraft with ASC 415, and SN 1390 and
subsequent.
IF SMOKE IS DETECTED EITHER PHYSICALLY OR BY SMOKE / FLAME
DETECTOR:
1. Oxygen Masks (100%) and Smoke Goggles...............................................DON
2. NO SMOKING Sign...........................................................................................ON
3. GALLEY / CABIN Master Switches...............................................................OFF
4. FLIGHT / LANDING Switch ......................................................................FLIGHT
NOTE:
If smoke is penetrating cabin area and there is no
visible sign of fire, manually deploy passenger oxygen
masks, check for deployment and advise passengers
to don masks.
5. EMERGENCY DESCENT PROCEDURE Checklist......................CONSIDER, IF
APPLICABLE
See Section 05-22-20, Emergency Descent Procedure.
A. Cruise Speed ..................MAINTAIN IF LEVEL FLIGHT IS NECESSARY
6. Smoke Mask / Portable Oxygen (Investigating Crew Member) ................DON
7. Smoke Source ................................................................................INVESTIGATE
NOTE:
If investigating a Right Hand Avionics Bay (Radio
Rack) Detector warning (for airplanes SN 1000 and
subsequent with ASC 268), when installed, remove
the avionics bay cover to gain access to those
compartments. If there is no smoke apparent.
investigate all compartments within the cabin, as the
smoke may be originating in any area which exhausts
air to the outflow valve.
NOTE:
Close all cabin doors between the cockpit and
baggage compartment. It is permissible to leave
baggage compartment door open while locating and
eliminating source of smoke.
TO DEPRESSURIZE BAGGAGE DOOR SEAL:

8. Baggage Compartment .............................................................DEPRESSURIZE
A. Baggage Door Handle ..............................................OPEN 45 DEGREES
(For airplanes SN 1000 through 1155 without ASC 157.)
NOTE:
The baggage door seal may be depressurized by
rotating baggage door handle 45 degrees. Do not
open baggage door as it will impair smoke evacuation.
B. Baggage Door Seal Selector Valve ...................................EVAC SMOKE
(For airplanes SN 1000 through 1155 without ASC 157, and airplanes SN
1156 and subsequent.)
NOTE:
As cabin altitude increases, cabin rate of climb can be
controlled by increasing available bleed pressure
above 35 psi. Bleed pressure can be increased by
increasing power to the maximum continuous power
setting or by selecting COWL ANTI ICE to ON at
higher altitudes. If unable to attain 35 psi or greater or
if selecting COWLANTI ICE to ON results in an amber
COOL TURB HOT caution message on CAS, descend
to a lower altitude until cabin rate of climb is
controllable. Select COWL ANTI ICE to OFF if COOL
TURB HOT message persists.
AFTER SMOKE / FUMES DISSIPATE:
9. Source Of Smoke / Fumes .....................LOCATE / EXTINGUISH / ELIMINATE
NOTE:
If the source of smoke / fumes cannot be eliminated,
consideration should be given to descending to 20,000
feet, along with increasing cabin altitude to 20,000
feet, in an attempt to starve the smoke / fumes source.
Proceed to the nearest suitable airport and land if
smoke / fumes persist.
TO RETURN CABIN PRESSURIZATION TO NORMAL:
10. Baggage Compartment .............................................................REPRESSURIZE
A. Baggage Door Handle........................RETURN TO NORMAL (CLOSED)
(For airplanes SN 1000 through 1155 without ASC 157.)
B. Baggage Door Seal Selector Valve...................................NORMAL OPS
(For airplanes SN 1000 through 1155 without ASC 157, and airplanes SN
1156 and subsequent.)
