05-16-30: Failure Of Two Fuel Boost Pumps On One Side
IF TWO (2) FUEL BOOST PUMPS ON THE SAME SIDE ARE INOPERATIVE, FUEL
CAN BE DELIVERED UNDER PRESSURE TO EACH ENGINE BY:
1. Crossflow (X FLOW)....................................................................................OPEN
CAUTION
THE ENGINE WILL RUN ON SUCTION FUEL FEED
ONLY AT OR BELOW 20,000 FEET. ABOVE 20,000
FEET, THE ENGINE WILL RUN ERRATICALLY AND
FLAME OUT IF THE CROSSFLOW VALVE IS NOT
OPEN WITH AT LEAST ONE BOOST PUMP ON.

2. Operative Fuel Boost Pumps..........................................................................ON
NOTE:
Flying under these conditions will produce a gradually
increasing fuel unbalance, since fuel from one tank will
be used. Fuel quantity on the side with the inoperative
fuel boost pumps will increase due to the ejector, while
fuel quantity on the side with the operative fuel boost
pumps will decrease. Fuel balancing is accomplished
by selecting INTERTANK OPEN and establishing a
small sideslip (½ trapezoid or ball) in the appropriate
direction. When fuel balancing is completed, select
INTERTANK CLOSED and reestablish normal trim.

FLT HYD FAIL (AMBER)
1. Altitude .....................................................DESCEND TO 25,000 FT OR BELOW
2. Airspeed ......................................................MAINTAIN 250 KCAS OR SLOWER
3. Yaw Damper.....................................................................................SELECT OFF
NOTE:
This action disengages the autopilot, if engaged at the
time.

4. Approach.......................PLAN WIDE, POWER-ON APPROACH AT 20° FLAPS
A. Landing Runway........SELECT LONGEST AVAILABLE WITH MINIMUM
CROSSWIND COMPONENT
5. FLAP Handle .....................................................................................................20°
NOTE:
Set flaps to 20° using Auxiliary Hydraulic (AUX) pump
pressure.
6. Gear Handle.................................................................................SELECT DOWN
7. Airspeed .............................................................................175 KCAS MAXIMUM
8. Gear .......................................................EXTEND USING ALTERNATE SYSTEM
9. Gear Position.............................................................CHECK DOWN / 3 GREEN

11. GPWS / GND SPLR FLAP ORIDE ...................................................................ON
12. AUX Pump ..........................................................ON (PRIOR TO TOUCHDOWN)
NOTE:
The red GND SPOILER warning message may be
displayed on CAS during flap position. This is due to
“spoiler float” and is considered normal.
NOTE:
Nose wheel steering will not be available for landing.
FINAL LANDING CONFIGURATION IS GEAR DOWN, GEAR HANDLE DOWN,
FLAPS 20°, AUX PUMP ON.
ON TOUCHDOWN:
13. Directional Control.MAINTAIN AS REQUIRED WITH BRAKES AND RUDDER
Expect diminished braking capability due to the low output of the AUX pump and
the demand of the brakes.
