CAS Message: Possible Cause(s): Corrective Action:
L-R CONV FAN FAIL A converter cooling fan
has failed.
Record time of failure.
Continued operation for a
maximum of twenty-five (25)
hours is permitted. Subsequent
takeoffs are permitted upon
verification that only one cooling
fan has failed. Operation with
more than one cooling fan failed
may result in damage to, and/or
automatic shutdown of, the
affected converter. With ASC
285 incorporated, this message
will remain displayed. Display of
this message, whether
momentary or permanently set,
requires maintenance action.
L-R CONV HOT Converter temperature
is above 220° F (104°
C).
Select ELECTRIC MASTER,
LEFT PWR (or RIGHT PWR)
switch to OFF. Message will
remain displayed until
temperature reduces to 190° F
(88° C). After message is no
longer displayed, attempt to
select converter ON. Attempt to
reduce load on affected
converter. If message recurs,
select affected converter OFF
and do not reinstate.
L-R COOL TURB HOT Cooling turbine
discharge air above
450° F (232° C).
If on ground, system will shut
down automatically.
If in flight, see Section 05-01-
30, Left Or Right Cooling
Turbine Hot.
L-R COWL A/I OVHT Engine cowl
temperature is above
662° F (350° C).
(1) Select COWL ANTI-ICE
OFF.
(2) If message persists, select
WING ANTI-ICE OFF.
(3) If message persists, select
associated BLEED AIR
OFF.
(4) Depart icing conditions.
L-R COWL PRESS
LOW
Cowl anti-ice pressure
is less than 10 ±1 psi.
(4 ±1 psi for airplanes
SN 1190 and
subsequent, and
airplanes SN 1000
through 1189 with ASC
243 incorporated.)
(1) Check engine power
setting.
(2) Increase power setting to
extinguish message if cowl
anti-ice pressure is less
than 4 psi.
(3) If COWL ANTI ICE
pressure indicator is
inoperative, increase power
setting to extinguish
message.

NAV source, airplane
has flown off end of
flight plan, resulting in
autopilot reverting to
HEADING HOLD mode
and PITCH HOLD
mode (if VNAV was
active).
Select any autopilot lateral and
vertical mode.
CREW OXYGEN OFF Crew oxygen bottle is
shut off at bottle.
Select bottle to OPEN position
at bottle.
DAU 1-2 MISCMP ENG Engine data
miscomparison between
DAU ’A’ and ’B’
channels.
(1) Compare engine data
displayed with DAU ’A’ and
’B’ channels.
(2) Select reliable channel.
DAU 1-2 MISCMP-MSG EICAS amber message
miscomparison between
DAU ’A’ and ’B’
channels.
(1) Compare amber message
displayed with DAU ’A’ and
’B’ channels.
(2) Select reliable channel.
L-R DC POWER FAIL DC output from
converter has dropped
off line.
(1) Check engine idle.
(2) Select ELECTRIC
MASTER, LEFT PWR (or
RIGHT PWR) to OFF, then
ON.
If unable to RESET:
(1) Continue operation.
(2) Monitor condition
frequently.
(3) If any unusual condition
occurs, select ELECTRIC
MASTER, LEFT PWR (or
RIGHT PWR) to OFF.
DU FAN 1-2 FAIL Respective DU cooling
fan has failed.
Fan #1 cools DUs 1, 3 and 5.
Fan #2 cools DUs 2, 4 and 6.
If Fan #1 is failed, consider
selecting DISPLAY
SWITCHING, PILOT to PFD
XFER.
If Fan #2 is failed, consider
selecting DISPLAY
SWITCHING, COPILOT to PFD
XFER.
EL MISTRIM NOSE
UP/DN
Autopilot elevator trim
out of trim in direction
indicated.
No action required for
momentary message.
If steady message persists:
(1) Disengage autopilot.
(2) Retrim airplane.
(3) Attempt to determine
problem.
ENG FLT LOOP ALRT Engine fire detection
loop fault detector
active.
(1) Check FIRE DETECTION
fault panel.
(2) Identify engine and loop.
(3) Disable faulty loop with
FAULT switch.
