IRS 1-2-3 COOL FAIL
(SPZ-8400 Equipped
Airplanes)
Indicated IRS cooling
fan has failed.
Select IRS to OFF.
IRS 1-2-3 ON
BATTERY
Indicated IRS has lost
normal power source
and has reverted to
battery power.
Check normal bus power source
to IRS and restore source, if
able.
If unable to restore power
source, expect limited
endurance.
MACH TRIM LIMIT Elevator trim has
reached electrical trim
limit while operating
airplane in Mach Trim
speed region (greater
than 0.80 Mach).
Retrim or slow airplane.
MACH TRIM OFF PITCH TRIM switch
selected OFF or electric
pitch trim has failed.
(This message is
inhibited at less than
0.82 Mach.)
(1) Verify PITCH TRIM switch
is engaged (DISEN legend
extinguished).
(2) If switch is engaged, check
CBs:
• STAB AUG SERVO #1:
Copilot’s Overhead, A-6
• STAB AUG SERVO #2:
Copilot’s Overhead, B-6
(3) Observe mach trim
inoperative speed. See
Section 01-22-10, Mach
Trim Compensation /
Electric Elevator Trim.
L-R MAIN FUEL FAIL Indicated MAIN FUEL
BOOST pump has
failed.
(1) Select ALTERNATE FUEL
BOOST PUMP.
(2) Select failed FUEL BOOST
PUMP to OFF and pull
appropriate (L or R) MAIN
BOOST PUMP CB on
PDB.
See Section 05-16-20, Fuel
Boost Pump Failure.
PAX OXYGEN OFF Passenger oxygen
bottle is shut off at
bottle.
Select bottle to OPEN position
at bottle.

L-R PITOT HT FAIL Indicated pitot tube
heater elements not
energized.
(1) Verify pitot heat (PITOT)
switch is selected to ON.
(2) Verify the following CBs
are closed:
• L PITOT HT CONT:
Copilot’s Aft Panel, L-12
• R PITOT HT CONT:
Copilot’s Aft Panel, M-12
• L PITOT HT PWR:
Copilot’s Aft Panel, L-11
• R PITOT HT PWR:
Copilot’s Aft Panel, M-11
(3) If PITOT HEAT illuminates,
expect erroneous
indications from:
• Airspeed Indicator
• Air Data System
Computer
• Airspeed Warning
Sensor
• Mach Trim
Compensation
(4) Depart icing conditions.
RETRIM L-R WING
DOWN
Lateral axis out of trim. (1) Grasp control yoke firmly.
(2) Disconnect autopilot.
(3) Retrim airplane in direction
indicated.
SNGL RUDDER LIMIT Failure of input
pressure load limiter
(with Flight and
Combined Hydraulic
System pressure
normal.)
Avoid abnormal rudder
deflection.
SPD BRAKE
EXTENDED
Speed Brakes (Flight
Spoilers) are deployed
with power levers above
idle.
Retract speed brakes or reduce
thrust as desired.
SSEC DISABLED Static source error
correction to DADC has
been disabled.
Check SSEC DISABLE test
switch on appropriate DADC.
STAB-FLAP FAIL Flaps UP (0°) and
stabilizer not UP.
(1) Lower flaps to correspond
with stabilizer position to
prevent running out of
longitudinal trim.
(2) Maintain airspeed within
flap position limits. Consult
placards or see Section
01-03-60, Airspeed
Limitations.
(3) See Section 05-14-10,
Failure Of Stabilizer / Flap
Interconnect and Section
05-14-30, Partial Flaps
Landings.

STALL BARRIER 1-2 Stall barrier system
giving stall angle
indication.
(1) Check the following
indications:
• Attitude
• Power
• Airspeed
(2) If primary instruments
indicate normal conditions,
disable system by pulling
affected CB:
• STALL WARN CMPTR
#1: Copilot’s Overhead,
A-12
• STALL WARN CMPTR
#2: Copilot’s Overhead,
B-12
Full protection will be provided
by operative system.
STALL BARR 1-2 FAIL Stall barrier failed.
It is normal for STALL
BARR 1 FAIL message
to be displayed any
time EMERGENCY
FLAPS are used and
flaps position is greater
than 22°.
(1) Check stall barrier and stall
barrier valve CBs:
• STALL BARRIER #1:

• STALL BARRIER #2:
