05-21-30: Aft Equipment Hot
AFT EQUIP HOT (RED)
The “AFT EQUIP HOT” red warning message displayed on CAS indicates that
high temperatures exist in the tail compartment, possibly caused by a ruptured
pneumatic duct or fire. With this message displayed, proceed as follows:
1. Faulty Side .............................................................................................IDENTIFY
NOTE:
High TGT, high fuel flow, low EPR or abnormal (low)
bleed pressure may indicate faulty side.
2. Appropriate BLEED AIR Switch ....................................................................OFF
3. ISOLATION Valve ......................................................................CHECK CLOSED
4. Altitude ................................................DESCEND TO 41,000 FEET OR BELOW
IF MESSAGE PERSISTS OR RETURNS:
5. Emergency Descent .........................................................................COMMENCE
See Section 05-22-20: Emergency Descent Procedure.
WHEN BELOW 15,000 FEET MSL:
6. Passenger Oxygen Masks ............................................DEPLOY, IF REQUIRED
7. Opposite BLEED AIR Switch.........................................................................OFF
NOTE:
This will result in a loss of cabin pressurization.
IF MESSAGE PERSISTS:
8. Aircraft ...............................................................LAND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
05-21-40: Converter Overheat
L-R CONV HOT (AMBER)
The “L-R CONV HOT” amber caution message displayed on CAS and associated
aural tone indicate that converter temperature is above 220° F (105°C). With this
message displayed, proceed as follows:
1. ELECTRIC MASTER LEFT POWER or RIGHT POWER...............................OFF
IF MESSAGE IS NO LONGER DISPLAYED:

2. ELECTRIC MASTER LEFT POWER or RIGHT POWER ................................ON
NOTE:
Converter operation should be monitored for
remainder of flight. At any sign of unusual operation or
heavy load, select ELECTRIC MASTER LEFT
POWER or RIGHT POWER to OFF. The message will
remain displayed until the temperature of the
converter is reduced. If overheat condition recurs,
select the overheated converter OFF for the remainder
of flight and perform Section 05-07-40: Alternator/
Converter Failure - Single. If below 15,000 feet, it is
recommended that the APU be started as source of
supplemental electrical power. See the following
sections as applicable: Section 05-04-20: APU Inflight
Operation: Alternate Electrical Source or Section
05-04-30: APU Inflight Operation: Alternate Electrical
Source - ELWS (Loadmeter) Procedure.
05-21-50: Alternator Overheat
L-R ALT HOT (AMBER)
The “L-R ALT HOT” amber caution message displayed on CAS and associated
aural tone indicate that converter temperature is above 250° F (121°C). With this
message displayed, proceed as follows:
1. ELECTRIC MASTER LEFT POWER or RIGHT POWER...............................OFF
IF MESSAGE IS NO LONGER DISPLAYED AND WAS NOT ACCOMPANIED BY
ENGINE VIBRATION OR UNUSUAL EVM INDICATIONS:
2. ELECTRIC MASTER LEFT POWER or RIGHT POWER ................................ON
Monitor alternator operation for remainder of flight. If indications are erratic or “L-R
ALT HOT” message is displayed again, select appropriate ELECTRIC MASTER
switch to OFF.
NOTE:
If below 15,000 feet, it is recommended that the APU
be started as source of supplemental electrical power.
