(1) Airplanes SN 1120 and subsequent, and airplanes with ASC 170 incorporated.
(2) FWC 1 only on SPZ-8000 equipped airplanes.
UPON DESCENT FOR APPROACH AND LANDING, WHEN ALTITUDE PERMITS,
REPLACE STANDBY ELECTRICAL POWER SYSTEM WITH APU/AUXILIARY
POWER AS FOLLOWS:
NOTE:
Normal (hydraulic) operation of the landing gear and
landing with the Standby Electrical Power system as a
source of electrical power is approved provided
automatic ground spoilers and thrust reversers are
NOT used. See Section 05-17-50, Landing With
Standby Electrical Power System Operating.
11. Altitude / Airspeed ...........................................................................CONFIGURE
A. Altitude ..........................................DESCEND TO 15,000 FT OR LOWER
B. Airspeed.............................SLOW TO MAXIMUM SPEED OF 250 KCAS
NOTE:
If the Standby Electrical Power system cannot be used
in the descent, it is recommended that descent to
15,000 ft and APU start be accomplished within ten
(10) minutes to ensure sufficient battery strength is
available if needed.

A MAXIMUM OF TWO (2) THIRTY (30) SECOND APU
START ATTEMPTS WILL ENSURE TWENTY (20)
MINUTES OF BATTERY-ONLY OPERATION.
ADDITIONAL START ATTEMPTS WILL REDUCE
BATTERY-ONLY OPERATING TIME. IF UNABLE TO
START APU AND STANDBY ELECTRICAL POWER
SYSTEM IS NOT AVAILABLE, PROCEED TO SECTION
05-07-30: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM - BATTERY
ONLY OPERATION.
CAUTION
IF APU CANNOT BE STARTED OR APU ALTERNATOR
CANNOT BE USED TO POWER THE BUSES,
REMAIN ON STANDBY ELECTRICAL POWER
THROUGHOUT DESCENT AND APPROACH. DO
NOT CONTINUE CHECKLIST. AT THE CREW’S
DISCRETION, THE LANDING MAY BE
ACCOMPLISHED BY TURNING OFF STANDBY
ELECTRICAL POWER AND USING BATTERY
POWER ONLY FOR LANDING, OR THE CREW MAY
ELECT TO LAND WITH THE STANDBY ELECTRICAL
POWER SYSTEM OPERATING USING THE
CHECKLIST IN SECTION 05-17-50, LANDING WITH
STANDBY ELECTRICAL POWER SYSTEM OPERATING.

NOTE:
If the 100% load limit is exceeded on the APU
alternator (AC AUX PWR % on EPMP) or on the TRU
(DC AUX PWR % on EPMP), select equipment OFF
as required to bring loads within limits. See Section
01-49-30, APU Alternator Electrical Load.
