The regular monthly
meeting of Port Hawkesbury
town council took place
Tuesday, January 8th at 7:00
p.m. in the Shannon Studio
of the Port Hawkesbury
Civic Centre.
— At the committee of
the whole meeting held
on December 17th town
council heard from Les
MacIntyre and Rick
Hunter of MacGregor Geo
Science, a company owned
by Superport Marine.
They requested Council
consider leasing land on
the waterfront to them for
20-25 years so they might
put up a building to run
their business. Council
and Mayor requested they
write a letter stating lot
size required, footage and
location, and Council can
deal with it before mid-
January.
— Town Council heard a
report on police services
from Sgt. Brian Rahill of
the RCMP which included
a list outlining the total
number of complaints along
with a breakdown of crime
fi gures and cases handled
by the Port Hawkesbury
Municipal Detachment
