Children who are five (5) years of age on or before December 31, 2008, are now eligible to attend primary beginning in September
of the 2008-2009 school year. The previous cut off date of October 1 has been extended to December 31. Parents can take
advantage of this opportunity for children to attend school, or opt to wait an additional year before having their child start school.
Parents are the best judges of whether or not their children are ready to start school.
• The child’s birth certificate, provincial health card and a completed registration form are required to complete the registration process.
• Parents or guardians who wish to register by telephone may do so by calling the school. Registration forms must be completed at the school
when convenient to the school principal or designate, at which time birth certificates and provincial health cards are to be presented.
• It is not necessary for children to accompany parents or guardians for registration.
• Parents or guardians who wish to register their child(ren) in French Immersion, please refer to the Grade Primary
Registration for French Immersion advertisement on opposite page.
It is the Board’s intention that Primary Registration be completed by the end of January 2008,
to allow time for school planning and staffing for the 2008-2009 school year.

for Inverness County to serve on the management team that will be
overseeing the development of the marketing strategy.

municipal units sitting on the management
team committee.
