MacLEOD
Dr. Charles W. MacLeod, 82, a native of Dunvegan, Inverness Co.
who pioneered hand surgery by re-attaching a severed hand of an
accident victim in the Michigan area, died November 12th, 2007. He
was the son of the late John C. MacLeod and Cassie (MacKinnon)
of Dunvegan. Dr. MacLeod studied at Dunvegan School, St.FX
University, University of Ottawa Medical School, and specialized in
surgery in Grace Hospital, Detroit. He was a leader in his chosen field
of medicine. He is survived by his wife, Sandra (Markovich); sisters
Theresa, Halifax; Alice (the late Jacques) Beaubien, Richmond,
Que.; Catherine (Bob) Schiffman, Cape Cod; Sister Evelyn, CND,
Sydney; Christina (the late John) MacLellan, Deepdale. He was
predeceased by brothers Father John, Murdock; sister Sister Mary,
CSM. He is also survived by good friend Jean Marie King, who
rendered valuable service to the MacLeods. Funeral took place in
St. Aidan’s Catholic Church, Livonia, Michigan.

Chisholm, Orangedale, wish to

Sydney Cancer Center and

the nursing home care staff

Patricia and Angela, we thank
you for your reassurance and

To the home care staff, who
are too numerous to mention,
I must say Archie enjoyed his
“visits” with each one of you.
Johnena Lee, palliative
care coordinator, may God
bless her. Our connection with
Johnena was most important. It
was a life-line of assurance and
comfort when you feel so lost.
To all our families who were
so wonderful to visit so often, to
bring treats and gifts to Archie, it
all helped to make his life more
comfortable and interesting.
To our friends for their many
phone calls, visits and cards, we
will not forget you.
