That’s the puzzle the
Inverness Midget A Ravens
posed to its opponents
lately, winning back-toback
2-0 games over Pictou
County’s Midget AA team
on the weekend to make
it five consecutive shutout
victories.
“Our goaltending is as
good as it gets,” said Ravens
coach Brian Hinkley. “I’m
playing Robert MacDonald
and Ricky Doucet gameabout
and they have five
shutouts in a row now.”
On Saturday in Trenton,
MacDonald was between
the pipes for the win.

On Sunday in Inverness, the
Ravens scored twice in the first period
and held on for the 2-0 win in a game
shortened by a brawl with 1:19 left to
be played.
“It just happened all of a sudden,”
said Hinkley, who will be missing three
players to suspensions this weekend at
a Midget A tournament in Antigonish.
On Sunday, Logan Taylor scored
on a slapshot from the blueline at 6:49
of the first.
Shorthanded just 40 seconds later,
James MacLellan forced a Pictou
turnover at their blue line, took a shot,
leaving a juicy rebound for trailer
Randy Kennedy to bury for the score.
“They played great on the
weekend,” said Hinkley. “Everyone’s
working hard, and nobody is
coasting.”
