with 1:38 left in the game Friday to lead the Inverness Rebels to a 5-4 win over Brent Pierro and the Baddeck
Broncos.
Kieran MacLeod, of the Baddeck Broncos, was stopped on a point-blank shot by
Inverness Rebels goalie Robert MacDonald, and defenceman Nathan Campbell
cleared the rebound in Friday’s high school game in Inverness.

Leah MacDonnell’s
three-point shot with just
seconds on the clock capped
off a second-half comeback
by the Inverness Rebels to
win the West Island High
School Girls’ Basketball
League semifinal 45-43 over
the Dalbrae Dragons.
Trailing 35-18 in the
third quarter, the Rebels
slowly cut away at Dalbrae’s
lead, getting their first
lead, 42-41, on an Amber
MacDougall three-point
shot with just 2:18 left in the
game.
MacDougall fouled out
shortly after and Dalbrae
regained the lead, but
MacDonnell’s big shot
from the left side sealed the
Rebels win.
It was the second
major collapse in a row for
Dalbrae, losing to CBHA
