E. Prepare for the Adjustment

(1) Do this task: Supply Electrical Power, TASK 24-22-00-860-811.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF ALL CONTROL
SURFACES BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. AILERONS, RUDDERS,
ELEVATORS, FLAPS, SLATS, SPOILERS, LANDING GEAR, AND THRUST REVERSERS
CAN MOVE QUICKLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE
INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) Do this task: Speed Brake Hydraulic Systems A and B Pressurization,
TASK 27-62-00-800-801.

(3) Install the mount, SPL-1670 and the control column assembly protractor, SPL-1680 on the
captain’s aileron control wheel.

(4) Put the ailerons in the neutral position.

(5) Adjust control column assembly protractor, SPL-1680 to zero.

(6) Move the speed brake lever to the DOWN position.

(7) Install the protractors, COM-1691, on the flight spoilers.
NOTE: If eight protractors, COM-1691 are not available, or if all of the actuator linkages do not
need to be adjusted, you can adjust the actuator linkages two at a time. Install
protractors, COM-1691 on both of the spoilers in a symmetrical pair. You can repeat the
adjustment as needed for the other spoiler pairs. Symmetrical spoiler pairs are:
Spoilers No. 2 and No. 11
Spoilers No. 3 and No. 10
Spoilers No. 4 and No. 9
Spoilers No. 5 and No. 8
F. Spoiler Actuator Linkage Adjustment
SUBTASK 27-61-00-700-002
(1) Check the adjustment of the spoiler actuator linkages for spoilers No. 2, 3, 4, and 5.
(a) Turn the captain’s aileron control wheel fully clockwise to make sure the spoilers No. 2, 3,
4, and 5 are in the fully retracted position.
(b) Turn the control wheel 30.0 +/- 0.5 degrees counterclockwise from the neutral position.
NOTE: Do not turn the control wheel past 30.5 degrees. If you do this, return the control
wheel to neutral and move the control wheel slowly to 30.0 +/- 0.5 degrees again.
1) Make sure the spoilers No. 2, 3, 4, and 5 are extended to the positions shown in
Table 502.

(a) Do this task: Extend the Trailing Edge Flaps, TASK 27-51-00-860-803.
(b) Hold the control wheel 30.0 +/- 0.5 degrees counterclockwise from the neutral position.
