D. Actuator Installation
SUBTASK 27-61-51-420-001
(1) If it is necessary, install the unions [13] in the actuator [15]:
(a) Apply fluid, D00153 to the o-rings [14].
(b) Remove the caps from the hydraulic ports.
(c) Install the o-rings [14] and the unions [13] in the actuator [15].

(a) Remove the plugs from the hydraulic lines [12].
(b) Put the actuator [15] in its position and make sure the hydraulic lines [12] align with the
fittings.
(c) Loosely install the hydraulic lines [12] to the actuator [15].
(d) Connect the actuator [15] to the structure:
CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT INSTALL A WASHER ON THE SHORT TOP BOLT
[18]. THE BOLT [18] CAN TOUCH THE ACTUATOR [15] DURING THE
OPERATION OF THE ACTUATOR [15]. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE
ACTUATOR [15].
1) Install the bolt [18] without a washer.
2) Install the washer [20] and bolt [19].
3) Install the washers [22] and bolts [21].
4) Tighten bolts [21] to 225-275 pound-inches (25.4-31.0 newton-meters).
5) Tighten bolt [18] and bolt [19] to 450-550 pound-inches (50.8-62.1 newton-meters).
(e) Tighten the nut on the hydraulic lines [12] on the actuator [15].
(f) Install the bolt [18], washer [9], nut [10] and pin [11].
(g) Connect the actuator rod end [17] to the flight spoiler [16]:
1) Apply a layer of grease, D00633 to the outer diameter of pin [3].
2) Install pin [3], washer [6] and nut [7].
3) Tighten nut [7] to 540-660 pound-inches(61.0-74.6 newton-meters).
4) Install bolt [1], washer [2], washer [4], pin [5] and lockwire [23].

SURFACES BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. AILERONS, RUDDERS,
ELEVATORS, FLAPS, SLATS, SPOILERS, LANDING GEAR, AND THRUST REVERSERS
CAN MOVE QUICKLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE
INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(5) Do this task: Spoiler Hydraulic Systems A and B Pressurization, TASK 27-61-00-800-801.

(6) Move the speed brake control lever through its full cycle to bleed the spoiler actuators.
