D. Prepare for the Test

(1) Do this task: Supply Electrical Power, TASK 24-22-00-860-811.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF ALL CONTROL
SURFACES BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. AILERONS, RUDDERS,
ELEVATORS, FLAPS, SLATS, SPOILERS, LANDING GEAR, AND THRUST REVERSERS
CAN MOVE QUICKLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE
INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) Do this task: Spoiler Hydraulic Systems A and B Pressurization, TASK 27-61-00-800-801.

(3) Install the mount, SPL-1670 and the control column assembly protractor, SPL-1680 on the
captain’s aileron control wheel.

(4) Adjust the control column assembly protractor, SPL-1680 to zero.

(5) Move the speed brake lever to the DOWN position.

(6) Put the ailerons in the neutral position.
E. Flight Spoiler System Test
SUBTASK 27-61-00-480-017
(1) Do the steps below in turn for spoiler panels 2, 3, 4 and 5.
(a) Install the protractor, COM-1691 on the spoiler panel.
1) Note the location of the protractor.

2) Adjust the protractor, COM-1691 to zero.
(b) Make sure that rig pin number 15 fits freely in the Aileron Trim Actuator located in the left
main landing gear wheel well.
NOTE: Do not adjust the aileron trim for the remainder of this procedure.
(c) Turn the control wheel counterclockwise to 30 degrees and hold.
1) Using the spoiler protractor, note the position of spoiler panel.
NOTE: If you have to remove the protractor to measure the angle of the spoiler panel,
make sure you replace it in the same location from where it came.
(d) Continue to turn the control wheel counterclockwise to the 87 degree wheel position.
1) Using the spoiler protractor, note the new position of spoiler panel.
(e) Make sure the right wing flight spoiler panels 8, 9, 10 and 11 stay in the full down position.
(f) Shake-out and center the control wheel.

(2) Make sure that the noted position of the spoiler panel is within the spoiler position limits as are
shown in the table.

(3) Do the following steps:
(a) Turn the control wheel to 87 degrees in the counterclockwise direction.
(b) Slowly turn the control wheel in the clockwise direction.
(c) Stop turning the control wheel when spoiler panels 2, 3, 4 and 5 start to move down.
1) Record the control wheel position.
(d) Slowly begin turning the control wheel to the neutral position.
(e) Stop turning the control wheel when spoiler panels 4 and 5 reach the full down position.
NOTE: In the FULL DOWN position it is normal for spoiler panel 5 to be slightly higher
than spoiler panel 4.
1) Record the control wheel position.
(f) Make sure the noted control wheel positions are within the limits shown in the table below.
