SPOILER SHUTOFF VALVE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. General
A. This procedure has these tasks:
(1) A removal of the spoiler shutoff valve
(2) An installation of the spoiler shutoff valve
(3) A removal of the spoiler shutoff valve motor
(4) An installation of the spoiler shutoff valve motor.
B. The spoiler shutoff valve and the flight controls shutoff valve are parts of the flight controls hydraulic
module.
C. The spoiler shutoff valve is referred to as the "valve" and the spoiler shutoff valve motor is referred
to as the "valve motor" in this procedure.
D. You can replace the valve motor with the valve installed in the flight controls hydraulic module.

2. Spoiler Shutoff Valve Removal

A. General
(1) This task is the removal of the spoiler shutoff valve assembly, which contains the motor and the
valve.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THE DOWNLOCK PINS ARE INSTALLED ON ALL THE LANDING GEAR.
WITHOUT THE DOWNLOCK PINS, THE LANDING GEAR COULD RETRACT AND CAUSE
INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAMGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) If the downlock pins are not installed on all the landing gear, do this task: Landing Gear
Downlock Pins Installation, TASK 32-00-01-480-801.

(2) For applicable hydraulic system, do this task: Hydraulic System A or B Power Removal,
TASK 29-11-00-860-805.
NOTE: Remove power from hydraulic system A for the valve in the left wheel weel. Remove
power from hydraulic system B for the valve in the right wheel well.

(3) Do this task: Hydraulic Reservoirs Depressurization, TASK 29-11-01-860-802 or Hydraulic
Reservoirs Depressurization, TASK 29-09-00-860-802.

F. Spoiler Shutoff Valve Removal
SUBTASK 27-61-12-020-001
(1) Remove the housing valve assembly [12]:
(a) Disconnect the electrical connector [1] from the valve motor [7].
(b) Put a 5 gallon (19 liter) container, STD-1154 below the housing valve assembly [12] to catch
hydraulic fluid that drains from the housing valve assembly [12].
(c) Remove the four bolts [4] and washers [5] that attach the housing valve assembly [12] to
the hydraulic module housing [2].
(d) Carefully lift the housing valve assembly [12] straight up to remove it from the hydraulic
module housing [2].
(e) Put a cover on the hydraulic module housing [2] to keep contamination out of the open
valve hole.
