(i) Turn the captain’s control wheel counterclockwise to 87 degrees and hold.
(j) Measure and record the position of flight spoilers 2, 3, 4 and 5.
NOTE: If spoiler panels 2, 3, 4 and 5 do not move, use the calculated panel travel from
above instead.
(k) Make sure spoiler panels 8, 9, 10 and 11 are partially raised.

(15) Do these steps to check for spoiler laydown:
(a) Put the control wheel back in the neutral or zero position.
(b) Move the speed brake lever to the DOWN postition.
(c) Make sure all spoiler panels are in the full down position.

(16) Do these steps to test spoiler operation with one system hydraulic power.
(a) Turn off the System A hydraulic power by switching the SPOILER A switch on the forward
overhead panel to OFF.
(b) Move the speed brake lever to the full up position.
(c) Make sure spoilers 3, 5, 8 and 10 are fully up.
(d) Make sure spoilers 2, 4, 9 and 11 are fully down.
(e) Move the speed brake lever to the DOWN position.
(f) Change SPOILER A switch to ON and SPOILER B switch to OFF on the forward overhead
panel.
(g) Move the speedbrake lever to the full UP position.
(h) Make sure that spoilers 2, 4, 9 and 11 are fully up.
(i) Make sure that spoilers 3, 5, 8, and 10 are in the fully down position.
(j) Return the speed brake lever to the down position
(k) Make sure that all spoiler panels are down.

(17) Restore the aircraft to its usual configuration.
(a) Position the SPOILER B switch on the forward overhead panel to ON.
