E. Prepare for the Installation
SUBTASK 27-61-04-860-007
(1) Make sure that you do these steps:
(a) Do this task: Extend the Trailing Edge Flaps, TASK 27-51-00-860-803.
(b) Set the speedbrake control lever to the UP position.
(c) Do this task: Remove Pressure from the Spoiler Hydraulic Systems A and B,
TASK 27-61-00-800-802.
(d) Make sure set, SPL-1745 is installed on the spoiler actuator No. 3 or No. 10.

SUBTASK 27-61-04-820-001
(1) Align the reference marks on the sensor case and the sensor shaft.

(2) Do the following steps to install the spoiler position sensor [1] (Figure 401):
(a) Put the spoiler position sensor [1] in the mounting bracket [6] and the crank [9] with the
zero reference alignment mark aligned with the slot in the crank [9].
(b) Tighten the bolt [7] in the crank [9] to 25-35 pound-inches (2.8-4.0 newton-meters).
(c) Tighten the bolt [2] in the mounting bracket [6] to 8-12 pound-inches (.9-1.4 newton-meters).

(3) Do these steps to install the electrical connectors:
(a) Before you connect the electrical connectors, examine the connectors for corrosion.
WARNING: DO THE STEPS BELOW IF THE AIRPLANE OPERATES AT AIRPORTS WHERE
DEICING FLUID THAT CONTAIN POTASSIUM FORMATE IS USED. ALSO DO THE
STEPS FOR ALL AIRPLANES THAT YOU FOUND CORROSION IN THE
ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS IN THE MAIN WHEEL WELL. THE ELECTRICAL
CONNECTOR IS PART OF A SYSTEM THAT IS NECESSARY FOR SAFE FLIGHT.
(b) If there was corrosion, refer to (SWPM 20-60-03) to correct the problem.
(c) Apply the D5026NS or ZC-026 compound, G50171 to the connectors (SWPM 20-60-03).
(d) Connect the electrical connectors.
(e) Install lockwire, G02166 on the electrical connectors.

(4) Remove the set, SPL-1745 from the spoiler actuator.

(5) Do this task: Spoiler Position Sensor Adjustment, TASK 27-61-00-820-808.

(6) Move the speedbrake lever to the DOWN position.
SUBTASK 27-61-04-860-009
(7) Do this task: Retract the Trailing Edge Flaps, TASK 27-51-00-860-804.
