E. Speed Brake Forward Drum and Lever Brake Installation.
SUBTASK 27-62-21-420-001
(1) Install the lever brake assembly [11]:
(a) Install the lever brake assembly [11] into position.
(b) Install the bearing [19], bearing [20], and nut [21] at the end of the lever brake shaft.
(c) Install the bolt [7], washer [8], nut [9], and cotter pin [10] to connect the actuator [6] to the
lever brake assembly [11] .
(d) Install the bolt [12], washer [13], and nut [14] to connect the input rod [15] to the lever brake
assembly [11].

(2) Install the speed brake forward drum [1]:
(a) Install the speed brake forward drum [1] on the lever brake shaft.
1) Hold the cam roller lever arm [16] away from the speed brake forward drum [1].
(b) Install the quadrant bolt [18] and spacer [17].

(3) Connect the speed brake control cables SBA and SBB:
(a) Install the cable retainers and the cables on the speed brake forward drum [1].
(b) Connect the turnbuckles installed in the aft part of the lower nose compartment.
(c) Remove clamps on the cables.
(d) Remove tags on the cables.

(4) Install bushing [5], bolt [3], and washer [4] to connect the lever arm assembly [2] to the speed
brake forward drum [1].
