SPOILER POSITION SENSOR - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. General
A. This procedure has these tasks:
(1) The removal of a spoiler position sensor.
(2) The installation of a spoiler position sensor.
B. There are four spoiler position sensors. The spoiler position sensors No. 3 and No. 10 are for the
flight spoiler system and spoiler position sensors No. 4 and No. 9 are for the autopilot system.
C. This procedure only contains the tasks for the spoiler position sensors No. 3 and No. 10. For the
removal and installation procedures of the spoiler position sensors No. 4 and No. 9, refer to
(TASK 22-11-27-000-801).
D. The spoiler position sensor No. 3 (T539) is installed on the left wing spoiler No. 3. The spoiler position
sensor (T540) No. 10 is installed on the right wing spoiler No. 10. To get access to the spoiler position
sensors, you must extend the spoilers.

WARNING: KEEP PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT AWAY FROM THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES.
THE AILERONS, ELEVATORS, RUDDER, FLAPS, SLATS, SPOILERS, STABILIZER AND
NOSE GEAR CAN MOVE SUDDENLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS
CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) Do this task: Spoiler Hydraulic Systems A and B Pressurization, TASK 27-61-00-800-801.

(3) Do this task: Extend the Trailing Edge Flaps, TASK 27-51-00-860-803.

(4) Do this step to extend the spoiler:
(a) Move the speedbrake lever to the UP position.

(5) Do this task: Put the Spoiler Hydraulic systems A and B Back to the Condition Before the
Pressurization, TASK 27-61-00-840-801.

(6) Install set, SPL-1745 on the spoiler actuator No. 3 or No. 10.
E. Procedure
SUBTASK 27-61-04-020-001
(1) Do these steps to disconnect the electrical connectors of the spoiler position sensor [1],
(Figure 401):
(a) Remove the lockwire.
(b) Disconnect the electrical connector.

(2) Do these steps to remove the spoiler position sensor [1]:
(a) Remove the bolt [7], washer [8] and nut [5] in the crank [9].
(b) Remove the bolt [2], washer [3] and nut [5] in the mounting bracket [6].
(c) Remove the spoiler position sensor [1].
