SUBTASK 27-61-31-200-001
(1) Make sure the spoiler ratio changer [8] moves smoothly.
SUBTASK 27-61-31-420-001
(2) Put the rod guard [11] on the spoiler ratio changer input rod [12].
SUBTASK 27-61-31-420-002
(3) Install the spoiler ratio changer [8]:

(a) Put the spoiler ratio changer [8] in the wheel well.
(b) Attach the speed brake control cable SBA [3] to the speed brake input quadrant [19].
(c) Put the spoiler ratio changer [8] in its position on the structure.
(d) Install bushing [30], bushing [33] and bushing [37]:
1) Apply a thin layer of grease, D00015 between bushing [30], bushing [33], bushing [37]
and the mounting bearings.
2) Install bushing [30] with the shoulder inboard and bushing [33] and [37] with the
shoulders up.
NOTE: Make sure bushing [30], bushing [33] and bushing [37] cam move freely in the
mounting bearings.
(e) Install bolt [29], bolt [31] and bolt [35] to attach the spoiler ratio changer [8]:
1) Move the rod guard [11] if it is necessary to get access to bolt [29], bolt [31] and bolt
[35].
2) Install bolt [29] with the head inboard.
3) Install bolt [31] with the head up.
4) Install bolt [35] with the head up.
5) Install washer [32] and nut [34].
6) Install washer [36] and nut [38].
7) Tighten bolt [29], nut [34], and nut [38] to 50-70 pound-inches (5.6-7.9 newton-meters).

(4) Install the rod guard [11] on the spoiler ratio changer [8]:
(a) Move the rod guard [11] to its position on the spoiler ratio changer [8].
(b) Install washers [10] and bolts [9].

(5) Attach speed brake control cable SBB [2] to the speed brake input quadrant [19].
(a) Tighten cables to remove slack and remove control cable clamp, SPL-1569.
SUBTASK 27-61-31-420-005
(6) Attach spoiler control cables WSA1, WSA2 [5] and WSB1, WSB2 [7] to the left and right spoiler
output quadrant [18].
(a) Turn the spoiler output quadrant [18] if it is necessary to attach the spoiler control cables
WSA1, WSA2 [5], WSB1, WSB2 [7] and the cable retainers.
(b) Tighten cables to remove slack and remove control cable clamp, SPL-1569.

(7) Do this task: Spoiler Mixer Installation, TASK 27-61-21-400-801.
NOTE: It is not necessary to adjust the output cam of the spoiler mixer at this time.
