6. Airplane instruments
Remove the radio, navigation and engine control instruments, store them in accordance with their documentation, pack and store them in warehouse.
7. Flight controls

8. Landing gear

9. Airframe and canopy

NOTE:
1.
Prepare a warning tag forbidding the propeller rotation during storage, and containing storage information such as : type of storage, date of storage, end date of storage and schedule with storage inspections, and attach this tag to the propeller hub.
2.
Identify all dismounted fasteners with tags and store them in warehouse, along with their corresponding dismounted equipment.
14.5.4. De-storage of airplane stored for a long time
Carry out the operations prescribed for short de-storage and, in addition to them:
1.
Replace the oil, if the storage period has exceeded 1 year;
2.
Remove the plugs and bags of desiccants from the carburetor air inlets;
Remove the parched paper from the engine shock-absorbers.
Final operations
Carry out the short de-storage operations and, in addition:
1.
Perform the pre-flight work;
2.
Perform a checkup flight, to verify the proper operating condition of all systems.

14.5.5. Checkup and maintenance of stored airplane
Level of certification needed: Owner
1. Preliminary preparation
1.
Remove the canvas covers and the plugs;
2.
Dismantle the engine cowling;
3.
Open the canopy and all the inspection covers;
4.
Dismount the wing-to-fuselage & fuselage-to-empennage fairing;
2. Checkups
1. Engine and engine compartment
1.
Visually check the outer condition of the engine and its compartment;
2.
Check the condition of the engine shock-absorbers;
3.
Check the condition of the engine controls;
