VALIDITY PERIOD OF STORAGE: over 3 months, but not more than a year
FREQUENCY OF INSPECTIONS: once every two months for airplanes stored in the open, and
once every 4 months for airplanes stored in shelter, also depending on inspection results.

   AIRPLANE MAINTENANCE MANUAL
- Compressed air source;
- Brushes for cleaning, application of preservation material , retouching of paint;
- Cleaning cloths;
- Manifold intake (Pitot) canvas cover;
- Airplane tarpaulin; Pitot tube (canvas) cover; nose gear shock-absorber cover;
- Locks for controls;
- Plugs for engine exhaust tube, cowling intakes;
-Airplane anchorage elements, as the case may be. NECESSARY MATERIALS:
- white spirit ;
- detergent or soap
- pure mineral grease S743 or AIR 3565 ;
- protection product C.620 or AIR 8132 or MIL. C.16173B
- adhesive tape;
- cotton fabric;
- preservation oil; 
- paint for retouches;
- cord;
- parched paper;
- safety wire.
a) Preliminary preparation
1.  
Dismount the engine cowling;

2.  
Open all inspection doors;

3.  
Remove the wing-to-fuselage & fuselage-to-empennage fairing;

4.  
Dismount the wheel fairing.

b) Storage
1. Engine and engine compartment
1.  
Dismount the carburetor pipes.

2.
Start the engine and wait until the RPM reaches 2000-25000 rot/min.; maintaining the engine in this state, inject about 30 cm3 preservation oil in the air inlets, and then stop the engine;

NOTE: When the engine is stopped, the propeller stops turning.
3.
Drain the constant level chambers of the carburetors;

4.
 Grease the carburetor gaskets with working oil;

5.
 Put a desiccant bag in each carburetor, with the throttles fully opened, and then obturate;

6.
 Spray preservation oil on all metallic parts of the engine and plug the exhaust pipe

NOTE: The plugs should be red or marked with a red indicator.
7.
 Check the coating condition on the engine mount, and, if necessary, retouch;

8.
 Grease the engine shock-absorbers with preservation oil and wrap them in parched paper;

9. Carry out the short storage operations (recommended for storage of engine controls) in the engine compartment, too. 
1. Propeller
1.  
Remove the propeller and the spinner and clean them;

2.  
Put the propeller and the spinner in their original packages, or, if not available, wrap them in parched paper and store them in a dry environment;
