ELT (Emergency locator transmitter) AK-450
1. Radio communication system (see diagram 2.1 in Wiring Diagram Album)
The radio unit is located on the central area of the control panel, the transmission pushbuttons are mounted in the heads of the control stick handles, and the antenna is located on the fuselage, behind the cockpit.
This radio unit operates on the VHF frequency band (118.0-136.975MHz), it has 760 communication channels (frequency deviation 25 kHz), with a pre-selection and storage capacity of 9 channels, from where it displays the current frequency and a standby frequency. Switching between frequencies can be controlled directly from the front panel.

2. Transponder system (see Diagram 3.1 in Wiring Diagram Album)
The transponder is located under the radio unit, while the Altitude encoder (Barometer encoder) is located behind the control panel.
This transponder can operate in the following modes:
.
mode ON - it responds to an interrogation by sending the pre-selected identification code.
.
mode ALT - it can send the identification code and the altitude.
3. Strobe light system
The aircraft can be fitted with SKYSPORTS wingtip lights, model 901.

9.6. Non-electrical instruments not connected to a system
The instruments belonging to this category are not connected to any electrical circuit or any other system mentioned in the other chapters of this manual. They are used for navigation and flight control.
a) Magnetic compass
The aircraft is fitted with a compass, designed to determine the magnetic field Cm.
Location of compass: above or on the control panel.
Operation
Determining of magnetic field is based on the magnetic needle property to orient itself by the isogonal line of the geographical area where the aircraft is operated (if the magnetic deflection is null adjust the instrument).
b) Slip indicator
This instrument allows the pilot to determine, in case of VFR flights, the angle between the vertical of the area and the vertical axis of the airplane. It was designed as a glass tube with closed ends, bent downwards, inside of which a black glass ball can move freely. The ball motion is

attenuated by a fluid (of low freezing temperature) that fills the tube. Two marks engraved on the tube determine the ball position.
c) Clock
An electrical clock connected to the 12 V DC power line of the aircraft, through a protection device. A knurled pushbutton allows the clock setting.
