Annul the magnetic deviation by turning the adjustment screw C (corresponding to group N-S)

Steer the aircraft on the magnetic East (Cm = 90°).

Annul the magnetic deviation by turning the adjustment screw B (corresponding to group E-V)

5.  
Steer the aircraft on the magnetic South (Cm = 180°).

6.  
Reduce the magnetic deviation to half by means of screw C.

7.  
Steer the aircraft on the magnetic West (Cm=270°).

8.  
Reduce the magnetic deviation to half by means of screw B.

III. Third round
1.  
Steer the airplane along the magnetic North and set it to normal flight attitude.

2.  
Start the engine, maintaining it in idle running.

3.  
Record the value of magnetic deviation.

4.  
Stop the engine.


5.  Resume the above steps (par.3) for magnetic field values incremented with 30°, until a complete round is over (a total of 12 positions) Note: -When reaching the positions N, E, S, V, initiate transmissions with the VHF unit, and write down any additional deviations. Maximum deviations of 15° are allowed from the heading corresponding to each of the 4 positions. -   After adjustment, the maximum accepted deviation for any position of the aircraft is 10°.
C. Completion
1.        Draw an adjustment graphic, entering the values of magnetic deviations Cc measured in round III versus the headings Cm.
2. Compass checking
1.
 Check the general condition of the bowl and heading reading dial.

2.
 Check the readability of the markings. 

3.
 Check the fluid cleanliness. 

4.
 Make sure there are no fluid leaks or air pockets in the compass bowl.

5.
 Verify the sensitivity of the heading reading dial and the pivot condition, by bringing a
screwdriver near the compass. After removing the screwdriver, the dial should resume its
balance position ± 1°.


6.
 Check the reading by means of a "bearing" compass.


10. STRUCTURAL REPAIR 
Level of certification needed: LSA Repairman Maintenance
10.1. Instructions:
The following categories of damages can be repaired without consulting the manufacturer, provided that the service work is performed by duly authorized personnel:
-Replacing of loose rivets;
-Replacing of worn-out or corroded bolts;
-Skin cracks with a length of maximum 50 mm (2 inch);
-Pinholes or broken skin with a diameter of maximum 80 mm (3 inch.);
-Reconditioning of paint coatings;
-Replacing of any damaged part.
