Like any other precision vehicle, your new airplane will work fine as long as you take care of it on ground: the adequate and timely performance of the tasks herein prescribed will ensure both the necessary flight safety level, and flight availability of this airplane.
One thing you will really appreciate is the fact that your airplane was designed to last long. However, there is no replacement for the regular inspections before and after flight, as well as for the preventive maintenance and repair operations, when necessary.
After any repair or change operated in the workshop, record the jobs carried out in the airframe logbook, under the mechanic's signature.
In case of doubt about your skills, consult the manufacturer or other specialists (authorized under 14 CFR Part.65 . Airmen Other Than Flight Crewmembers .) qualified to perform the specific tasks being concerned: inspectors, airplane-engine mechanics, LSA (Light Sport Airplanes) repairmen etc.
The provisions set forth in this manual, as well as the provisions in the engine and propeller maintenance documentation can be supplemented during the airplane operation by Service Bulletins issued by manufacturers after the date of manufacture. Therefore, to assure a proper maintenance of the airplane, you should also apply the provisions set forth in the afore-mentioned bulletins.
1.0. Airplane description
FESTIVAL (see Figure 1) is a classic low-wing one-engine all-metallic airplane - except for the aileron and flap skins which are fabric covered – with a tricycle landing gear with nose wheel.

1.1. List of equipment and suppliers
The equipment listed below are installed on the Festival R40S airplane and were tested along with the airplane. Any equipment on the list can be replaced by equipment of the same type. If such an element is not available, contact the airplane manufacturer. These components are to be operated depending on their technical condition. The following will be considered operation periods for this equipment: -In case of equipment accompanied by certificates, use the information given in the certificates provided by the supplier;
-In case of equipment without certificates, take into account the operation period of the upper assembly (with certificate) on which they operate or, if such a certificate is not available, the airplane operation periods.
NOTE: The components and equipment related to the airplane instruments and to the electrical system are listed under the applicable chapters
