10.2.2. Manufacturing processes and methods
Most sheet metal parts (ribs, frames, straps, skins, spars, strengthening bars) are made by
shaping and forming, by using cutting, bending, deformation, cupping. The machined parts are made by cutting on machine-tools: lathe-turning and milling. The main assembly method is the riveting by drawn rivets, of Avex or Gesipa type.
10.2.3 Anti-corrosion protection
The surface corrosion protection is specific to the type of material used:
-for parts made of Aluminum alloy; chemical oxidation, electro-chemical oxidation;
-for steels: electro-chemical coatings (cadmium plating, nickel plating), passivation;
-for textile material: impregnation with specific lacquers (enamel);
-final coatings: primer and paint.
