If it is necessary, remove the clevis and jamnut from the input end of the rod assembly.

Put the input end of the rod assembly through the bearing on the outer side of the toilet service panel.

Install the clevis and jamnut on the rod assembly.

Adjust the clevis and jamnut to make sure the distance from the top of the jamnut to the top of the rod is that which was measured during removal (distance "A").
(5)
Make sure that you can see threads through the witness hole.

Remove the cotter pin, nut, bolt and washers that were loosely installed on the valve arm during the removal procedure.

Put a thin layer of grease on the surfaces of the bolt and the clevis.

(8) Connect the rod assembly to the valve arm with the bolt and washers.
NOTE: The nut and cotter pin will be attached after the adjustment

Move the valve arm to the fully closed position.

Measure the distance from the end of the drain valve handle to the service panel.

If the distance is not 2.10 inches, do the steps that adjust the clevis.
E. Adjust the Rod Assembly Clevis

Do an estimate of the number of turns of the clevis that are necessary to meet the above 2.10 inch dimension.

Disconnect the valve assembly from the valve arm.

(3)
Turn the clevis the number of turns that you estimated in the above step.

Make sure that you can see threads through the witness hole.
(5)
Connect the clevis to the valve arm with the bolt and washers.

With the valve closed, make sure the distance from the end of the handle to the service panel is 2.10 inches.
(7)
If it is necessary, do the steps that adjust the clevis again.
