Toilet drain valve indicator light

 (e)
Bumpers that keep the panel door open when the caps or/and handle are not closed.

 (7)  The toilet tank and bowl ventilation system removes the air and odor from the toilet tank and bowl, separates the water from the air that is removed, and releases the air into the atmosphere. The ventilation system has these components:
 (a)
Toilet tank vent

 (b)
Toilet bowl vent

 (c) Water separatorToilet Bowl and Tank (Fig. 1)
____________________
 A.  The toilet bowl receives and directs waste into the toilet tank. The bowl is shaped to allow it to be cleaned after each use by a single flush. The bowl is made of polished stainless steel. A stainless steel flush ring directs flushing fluid to clean the bowl.
 B.  A scoop-type separator between the toilet bowl and toilet tank keeps the tank contents from view and keeps the contents in the tank during normal flight, takeoff, and landing.
 C.  The toilet tank stores the mixture of toilet waste and chemical precharge fluid. The toilet tank is made of reinforced fire-resistant fiberglass, except for the drain valve seat and outlet, which are made of corrosion-resistant steel.
Flush Timer (Fig. 1)
___________
 A.  The flush timer is mounted on the lavatory wall. The timer is actuated by the toilet flush handle, and provides 115-volt ac power to the flush motor for 10 seconds.
Motor-Pump-Filter Assembly (MPF Assembly) (Fig. 1)
__________________________
 A.  The flush motor drives the pump which gets the fluid in the toilet tank into the toilet bowl. The motor operates on 115-volt, 3-phase, 400-Hz power. The motor cools itself during normal operation and is provided with a thermal protector.
 B.  The flush pump transports the fluid from the toilet tank to the flush outlet in the toilet bowl. The pump can be operated dry for an extended period of time without damage.
 C.  The filter is a perforated stainless steel basket. It filters the
contents of the toilet tank before it is delivered to the toilet bowl.Tank Spray Nozzles (Fig. 1)
__________________
 A.  During ground servicing, a series of spray nozzles that rotate within the filter basket of the motor-pump-filter assembly cleans the accumulated waste from the filter and tank interior. The spray nozzles are connected to the toilet tank rinse line, which connects to the rinse fitting on the toilet service panel.
Water Separator (Fig. 2)
_______________
 A.  The water separator is installed in the vent line from the toilet tank to the overboard vent duct. It keeps the moisture from the tank out of the vent system.

 7.  Rinse Shutoff Valve
___________________
 A.  A motorized rinse shutoff valve stops the flow of precharge fluid into the toilet tank when the level of fluid in the tank reaches the level sensor set point. The motorized shutoff valve also closes when power is removed from the ground handling bus. As a result, the valve is closed during flight to prevent the leakage of liquid at the service panel caused by negative pressure. This valve can be opened or closed manually after you remove the 115v ac power from it.
 B.  An anti-siphon valve and a mushroom check valve prevents the leakage of waste fluid through the rinse lines.
 8.  Fluid Level Sensor
__________________
 A.  The fluid level sensor can sense when the tank is nearly full. This prevents more liquid than the tank can hold to be added during servicing. When the precharge reaches a set level, the sensor signals the rinse shutoff valve in the rinse line to close the flow of the precharge into the tank. When the airplane is on the ground and the ground handling bus is energized, 28v dc power is supplied to the level sensor. If the ground handling bus is energized and the level sensor gets input for a NOT FULL condition, the rinse shutoff valve is electrically moved open. When power is removed from the ground handling bus or the level sensor gets input for a full tank condition, the shutoff valve is moved closed. The shutoff valve remains closed during flight.
