AIR COMPRESSOR - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure includes two tasks:
(1)
The removal of the air compressor for the potable water system.
(2)
The installation of the air compressor for the potable water system (air compressor).
B. The installation of the air compressor includes an air leak check of the compressor.
C. The air compressor is above the ceiling panels just right of center at station 850 at the aft end of the forward cargo compartment.

(1) Location Zone 124 Forward Cargo Container Compartment Aft Half, Right
C. Procedure

(1)
Do this task: "Water System Depressurization" (Ref 38-15-60/201).

(2)
For the ceiling panels in the area just right of center between stations 840 and 860, do this task: "Containerized Cargo Compartment Ceiling and Sidewall Linings - Removal" (AMM 25-52-01/401).
(3)
Disconnect the electrical connector from the air compressor.

Remove the clamp between the clamshell coupling and the air compressor.
(5)
Disconnect the clamshell coupling.

Remove the screws and washers that attach the air compressor to the four mounts.

Remove the air compressor together with the outlet line and elbow.

Disconnect the outlet line and elbow from the air compressor.
