The seal on the waste drain cap is an O-ring on the inner surface of the cap. The seal on the inner door is an O-ring that is installed around the edge of the inner door.

Do this check at regular intervals to help keep the leakage of waste fluids at the service panel to a minimum.

If it is necessary, clean the O-rings with water, an emulsion cleaner, and a 1/2-inch wide bristle brush.

Examine the O-rings for nicks or other defects.

Replace the defective O-ring(s).

(4)
Examine the metal surfaces on the nipple assembly that touch the O-ring.

Replace the nipple assembly if there are dents or damage that can cause leakage.

4. Toilet System Cleaning______________________
A. General
(1) The recommended method to clean the system is to rinse the system for one to two minutes each time the waste tank is drained. A regular rinse of the system will minimize unscheduled maintenance on the waste system.

E. Procedure

Drain and then flush the toilet tank (AMM 12-17-02/301).

Do these steps after you have drained the toilet tanks fully:
NOTE:____Do not add the precharge for the toilet tank. Make sure the flush line from the service cart is connected.
(a)
Push the drain valve handle to close the drain valve.
(b)
Remove the toilet shroud.
(c)
Use a vacuum cleaner to clean loose dirt from the lavatory.
CAUTION: USE ONLY APPROVED MATERIALS ON THE FLOOR PAN, LIGHT
_______ LENSES, HOSES, AND ELECTRICAL WIRES. OTHER MATERIALS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THESE PARTS.
(d) Use an approved disinfectant spray on these parts: 1) The toilet bowl ring 2) The supports for the toilet shroud 3) All cracks and corners of the walls and floor.
