Make sure there is no pressure to hydraulic system No. 1
(AMM 29-11-00/201).

Make sure that all Body Gear Steering Actuators are retracted.

Make sure that the captain's and first officer's tillers are in the neutral position.

Make sure that the rudder pedals are in the neutral position.

_______ SURFACES BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. AILERONS, RUDDERS, ELEVATORS, FLAPS,SPOILERS,LANDING GEAR, AND THRUST REVERSERS CAND MOVE QUICKLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Slowly pressurize hydraulic system No. 1 (AMM 29-11-00/201).

Do a check of the steering system lock switches with Input
Monitoring:
(a)
Push the NEXT PAGE button on the CDU until you get to page three.
(b)
Enter in C/026/003/10 on the scratchpad.
(c)
Push line select key 1L.
(d)
Move the captain's tiller for a right-hand turn (CW) until the nose gear angle shown on the protractor (decal) is between
15.50 and 16.50 degrees.

(g) (h) (i) Enter in E/070/271/00 on the scratchpad.Push line select key 1L.Make sure that the status of these bits on label 271 on the CDU display are as follows:

(n) (o) (p) (q) (r) (s) (t) Move the captain's tiller to the neutral position.Remove connector DX404 from the right body gear steering left actuator (X404).Install a jumper between pins 9 and 10 of connector DX404.Make sure that the message BODY GEAR STRG is not in view on the upper EICAS display.Make sure that BIT 26 on page four of the CDU display is a 0 (UNLOCKED).Install a jumper between pins 13 and 14 of connector DX404.Make sure that BIT 26 on page five of the CDU display is a 0 (UNLOCKED).
