B.
The nose gear steering actuators are double acting hydraulic actuators with external fluid transfer tubes.
(1)
Mounting trunnions on the actuators are attached between steering plates fixed to the aft side of the nose gear shock strut outer cylinder.
C.
To remove the steering actuator these steps are necessary:
-
Remove the cables from trunnion pivot link drum
-
Remove the steering metering valve
-
Remove the steering summing mechanism
-Disconnect the steering actuator rod ends from the steering collar clevis
-
Remove the steering collar
-
Remove the steering actuator and support plates
-
Seperate the steering actuators from support plates.
D.
To install the steering actuator these steps are necessary:
-Assemble the actuators and support plates on the shock strut
-
Install the support plate attach bolts
-
Install the steering collar
