CAUTION:_______ ACTUATION OF BODY GEAR STEERING WITH THE TRUCK TILTED
AND THE ACTUATORS CONNECTED WILL CAUSE OVER STRESSING
OF THE HYDRAULIC HOSES UNLESS THE CLAMP AT THE APEX
PIN IS DISCONNECTED.
(a)
The test requires the operation of the nose gear steering system and the measurement of the body gear steering actuator extension with the actuator assemblies disconnected from the torsion links.
(b)
The main gear trucks must be in the normal ground attitude so that the tilt sensors are not actuated.
(c)
To arm the steering system for the body landing gear, the steering system must receive the inputs that follow: 1) The nose landing gear must be turned at an angle of more
than 20 degrees.
2) One of the left body landing gear or wing landing gear and one of the right body landing gear or wing landing gear must be in the not tilted position.
3) The wheel speed must be less than 15 knots. 4) The BSCU must show the airplane is in the ground mode for 10 seconds or more. 5) The BSCU must show the ground speed is less than 40 knots.
(d)
Before you do the test, the nose gear steering system adjustment must be correct.
(e)
The table that follows contains port/label and bit information. This information is necessary when you do the system test for the steering system of the body landing gear.
