NOSE GEAR STEERING ACTUATOR - MAINTENANCE PRACTICES

1. General_______
A. This subject has procedures for one task, the replacement of the O-ring seals located at the aft and the forward end of the steering actuator transfer tube.
B. Replacement of the seal for leakage at the aft end requires the removal of the transfer tube attaching hardware.
C. Replacement of the seal for leakage at the forward end requires the repositioning of the actuator barrel and the removal of the transfer tube.
D. Removing the steering actuator from the airplane is not necessary for either the forward or the aft seal replacements.

WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY INSTALL THE GROUND LOCKS IN ALL LANDING
_______ GEAR. AN ACCIDENTAL RETRACTION OF THE LANDING GEAR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Install the ground locks in all landing gear (AMM 09-11-00/201).

_______ THE DOOR LOCKS ON THE LANDING GEAR DOORS. THE DOORS CAN CLOSE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE DOOR LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
