CAUTION:_______FULLY CLEAN THE SURFACES. FAILURE TO CLEAN THE SURFACES CAN CAN CAUSE CONTAMINATION TO GET IN SEALED AREAS WHEN YOU REMOVE THE COMPENSATOR ASSEMBLY. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
(1)
Fully clean the external surfaces near the junction of the compensator assembly and the metering valve.

Remove the compensator assembly.

Remove the compensator assembly from the metering valve body.
(b)
Remove the O-rings from the compensator assembly.

Install the compensator assembly.
(a)
Lubricate the new O-rings with lubricant.
(b)
Install the new O-rings on the compensator assembly.
(c)
Install the compensator assembly in the metering valve body and install the lockwire.

Leakage Test

CAUTION:_______DO NOT LET THE TORSION LINK FALL. IF THE TORSION LINK FALLS, DAMAGE TO THE MOUNTING BRACKET OF THE SQUAT SWITCH CAN OCCUR.
(1)
Remove the apex bolt of the torsion link of the nose landing gear (Fig. 402).
(a)
Push the button and pull out the quick-release pin from the apex bolt.
(b)
Fully loosen the apex bolt and pull the apex bolt out from the bushing that has threads.
