 Do a check of the NG steering system with the deactivated alternate squat sensor.

 (a)  
Push the captain's left rudder pedal fully forward and hold in that position. 1) Make sure that the steering collar at the nose gear turns 6


 to 8 degrees from the neutral position. 2) Release the captain's left rudder pedal and permit it to go to the neutral position. 3) Make sure that rig pin R-3 fits loosely in the rudder quadrant. 4) Make sure that the steering collar turns to the neutral position |2.0 degrees.

 Repeat the above check but push the captain's right rudder pedal.

 (a)  
Make sure the results are the same.

 Remove the actuator from the primary nose gear squat sensor (S800).

 Do a bite test of the nose gear steering with the primary and alternate squat sensors deactivated.

 (a)  
Make sure that the status of bit 21 on the CDU display of label 270 on page 1 is a 0 (NG COMPRESSED).

 (b)  
Make sure that the status of bit 21 on the CDU display of label 272 on page 2 is a 0 (NG COMPRESSED).

 (c)  
Make sure that the status of bit 19 on the CDU display of label 010 on page 3 is a 0 (the two electrical interconnect actuators are NORMAL).

 (25)
 Make sure that NOSE AIR/GROUND DISAGREE is not shown on EICAS.

Make sure that the status of bit 19 on the CDU display of label 010 on page 3 is a 0 (the two electrical interconnect actuators are NORMAL).

 (b)  
Make sure that the status of bit 21 on the CDU display of label 270 on page 1 is a 1 (NG NOT COMPRESSED).

 (c)  
Make sure that the status of bit 21 on the CDU display of label 272 on page 2 is a 1 (NG NOT COMPRESSED).

 Do a check of the deactivated NG steering system.

 (a)  
Push the captain's left rudder pedal fully forward and hold in that position.

 (b)  
Make sure that the steering collar index mark is still within |2.0 degrees of zero.

 (a)  
Push the captain's left rudder pedal fully forward and hold in that position.

 (b)  
Make sure that the steering collar index mark is still within |2.0 degrees of zero.
