 (1)  Disconnect the torsion links of the nose gear at the top
 (AMM 32-21-03/201).

 (2)  
Do a test on the turn of the nose gear.

 (a)  
Use the upper torsion link to turn the steering collar to the left (CCW) until the steering actuators are at their limits. 1) Make sure that the angular movement of the nose gear is


 70 (+2/-3) degrees.
 2)  Make sure that these items are free to move and have no worn areas: a) the cables b) the pulleys c) the quadrants d) the tillers e) the rudder pedal steering system f) the summing mechanism g) the steering actuators.
 (b)  Do the above turn test but manually turn the steering collar of the nose gear clockwise.

Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201)

 (4)  
Do a check on the steering system of the rudder pedal.

 (a)  
Set the rudder system to OFF.


 1)  On the P461 Pilot's Overhead Maintenance Panel, put the FLT CONTROL HYD POWER - TAIL VALVE switches No. 1, 2, 3, and 4 in the SHUTOFF position.
 CAUTION: OPEN THE SPECIFIED CIRCUIT BREAKERS BEFORE YOU DO THE
_______ PROCEDURES THAT FOLLOW. FAILURE TO OPEN THE CIRCUIT BREAKERS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT OR UNWANTED EQUIPMENT OPERATION TIME.
 2)  Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags on the P180 DC Power Distribution Panel: a) 180H8 ELEV/RUD VLV SYS 1 b) 180E7 ELEV/RUD VLV SYS 2 c) 180H23 ELEV/RUD VLV SYS 3 d) 180E22 ELEV/RUD VLV SYS 4
 3) Close the 7G25 NOSE GR STRG PRI circuit breaker on the P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel. 4) Close the 7G26 NOSE GR STRG ALTN circuit breaker on the P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel.

 (b)  
Pressurize hydraulic system No. 1 (AMM 29-11-00/201).

 (c)  
Push the left rudder pedal of the captain fully forward.

 (d)  
Make sure that the steering collar of the nose gear has turned 7 (|1) degrees from the straight-forward position.

 (e)  
Release the rudder pedal of the captain and permit it to go back to the neutral position.

 (f)  
Make sure that the rudder pedal of the captain goes back to the adjusted neutral position (AMM 27-21-00/501).

 (g)  
Make sure that the steering collar of the nose gear goes to neutral (| 2.0 degrees).
