RUDDER PEDAL STEERING MECHANISM - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure has two tasks:
(1)
The removal of the steering mechanism of the rudder pedal
(2)
The installation of the steering mechanism of the rudder pedal.
B.
The steering mechanism of the rudder pedal is found on the ceiling in the forward passenger cabin.

Install the door lock of the nose gear.

Get access to the steering cables (NWS1A, NWS1B).
(a)
Remove the left forward ceiling panel in the passenger compartment in front of the No. 1 door.

Remove the Rudder Pedal Steering Mechanism (Fig. 401)

(1) Decrease the cable tension at the turnbuckles.
NOTE: This step will decrease the tension equally in each steering

cable.

Disconnect the steering rod from the steering crank.
