Remove the actuator from the primary nose gear squat sensor (S800) only.

Do a bite test of the nose gear steering with the alternate squat sensor activated and the primary sensor deactivated.

Make sure that the status of bit 21 on the CDU display of label 270 on page 1 is a 0 (NG COMPRESSED).
(b)
Make sure that the status of bit 21 on the CDU display of label 272 on page 2 is a 1 (NG NOT COMPRESSED).

Do a test of the air/ground sensing and pedal steering on the EICAS.
(a)
Make sure that the EICAS message NOSE AIR/GROUND DISAGREE comes into view on the lower EICAS CRT.

Move the EIU select switch to the C position.
(c)
Make sure that NOSE AIR/GROUND DISAGREE comes into view on the EICAS.
(d)
Move the EIU select switch to the "R" position.
(e)
Make sure that NOSE AIR/GROUND DISAGREE comes into view on the EICAS.
(f)
Move the EIU select switch to L.
(g)
Make sure that the status of bit 19 on the CDU display of label 010 on page 3 is a 1 (one electrical interconnect actuator is INOP).
(h)
Move the EIU select switch to C.
(i)
Make sure that the status of bit 19 on the CDU display of label 010 on page 3 is a 1 (one electrical interconnect actuator is INOP).
(j)
Move the EIU select switch to R.
(k)
Make sure that the status of bit 19 on the CDU display of label 010 on page 3 is a 1 (one electrical interconnect actuator is INOP).
(l)
Move the EIU select switch to AUTO.

Do a check of the NG steering system with the deactivated primary squat sensor.
(a)
Push the captain's left rudder pedal fully forward and hold in that position. 1) Make sure that the steering collar at the nose gear turns 6
to 8 degrees from the neutral position.

2) Release the captain's left rudder pedal and permit it to go to the neutral position. 3) Make sure that rig pin R-3 fits loosely in the rudder quadrant. 4) Make sure that the steering collar goes to the neutral position |2.0 degrees.
