 C. Procedure (Fig. 402)
 S 414-029
 (1)  
Install the summing lever and the connecting rod.

 (a)  
Connect the connecting rod to the summing lever if it was removed and attach it with bolt (9).

 (b)  
Align the summing lever between the upper and the lower mounting plates.

 (c)  
Install bolts (4 and 5) and washers (10 and 12) through the upper and lower supports, the mounting plates, and the summing lever.

 (d)  
Install the washers at the head end of the bolts.

 (e)  
Install the bearing (13), the washer (14), and the nut (6).

 (f)  
Install the washers (10 and 12) and the nuts (11 and 15), and install the cotter pins.

 (g)  
Connect the pulley brackets to the summing lever and attach it with bolt (7).

 (h)  
Move the input arm aft until it is clear of the metering valve.

 (i)  
Connect the connecting rod to the input arm with bolt (8).

 (j)  
Install the cover support brackets with bolts (1 and 2).

 (k)  
Install the cover above the summing mechanism.

Adjust the Lower Cable Loop


 S 864-010
 (1)  
Make sure the release handle of the ground door of the nose landing gear is in the down and locked position.

 S 864-011

 (2)  
Make sure the control handle of the landing gear is in the DN position.

 S 014-012

 (3)  
Disconnect the torsion links of the nose landing gear at the apex (AMM 32-21-03/201).

 CAUTION: OPEN THE CIRCUIT BREAKER BEFORE YOU DO THE PROCEDURES THAT
_______ FOLLOW. FAILURE TO DO THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT OR UNWANTED EQUIPMENT OPERATION TIME.
 (4)  
Open the circuit breakers that follow:

 (a)  
P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
 1) 7G23 BODY GR STRG ARM AC

 (5)  S 494-014Make sure that you install the rig pin NS-4 in the cable compensator.
 (6)  S 494-015Install the rig pin NS-5 in the summing lever and the rig pin NS-3 in the input arm on the metering valve.
 (7)  S 494-030Make sure the rig pin NS-5 engages the structure on each end.
 (8)  S 834-016Adjust the NWS2A/NWS2B cables to 60 (| 10) pounds at all temperatures.
 (9)  S 714-017Make sure that rig pins NS-3, 4, and 5 are loose.

 Pressurize hydraulic system No. 1 (AMM 29-11-00/201).

 (11)
 Remove rig pins NS-3, 4, and 5.

 (12)
 Move the steering tillers of the captain and the first officer through | 150 degrees for three cycles.

 (13)
 Install rig pins NS-3, 4, and 5.

 (14)
 Make sure rig pins NS-3, 4, and 5 are loose.

 (15)
 Install the turnbuckle locking clips.

 Remove pressure from hydraulic system No. 1 (AMM 29-11-00/201).
