TOILET WASTE TANK - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure has five tasks. The first task removes the lavatory waste tank. The second task removes the auxiliary waste tank. The third task installs the lavatory waste tank. The fourth task installs the auxiliary waste tank. The fifth task does a check for leakage after you install a waste tank.
B. Do the test for leakage after you install an auxiliary waste tank or a waste tank that connects to it.

Drain and flush the waste tank from the external service panel (AMM 12-17-00/301).

Open the applicable lavatory flush motor circuit breaker on the P18 panel and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag.

ALL EXCEPT AIRPLANES WITH MODULAR LAVATORIES;
Do the steps that follow:
(a)
In the forward lavatory, remove the fasteners and the access panel from the toilet back shroud.
(b)
In the aft lavatory, do these steps: 1) Disengage the toilet back shroud from the spring clip.

2) Remove the shroud sufficiently to get access to the electrical connectors. 3) Remove the fasteners from the toilet tank shroud.
(c) In the lavatories just forward of the aft entry doors, do these steps: 1) Remove the fasteners and the toilet tank shroud. 2) Remove the fasteners and the toilet back shroud.

(4) AIRPLANES WITH RUMBOLD OR YRC MODULAR LAVATORIES; Do the steps that follow:
(a)
Remove the two fasteners that hold the flush handle and the face plate to the shroud.
(b)
To remove the collar, turn the collar and disengage the hooks.
(c)
Pull the left collar away and in to disengage the boss from the keyhole slot.
