WATER HEATER - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

A. This procedure includes two tasks:

The removal of the water heater

The installation of the water heater

A. Access
(1) Location Zones
103 Forward Lavatory
113/114 Aft Lavatory
118 Lavatory (if installed)
B. Prepare for the Removal
S 864-002
(1)
Open the applicable LAVATORY WATER HEATER circuit breaker on the P18-4 panel and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag.
S 014-003
(2)
Open the door for the sink cabinet.
S 864-005
(3)
Turn the switch for the water heater to the off position.

(4)
Disconnect the electrical connector from the compartment wall.

(5)
Turn the lavatory drain valve to the OFF position.
C. Remove the Water Heater
S 034-009
(1) Disconnect the inlet and outlet tubes from the water heater.
NOTE: You must use a container to catch the water when you

disconnect the water lines.
S 494-008
(2)
Install a cover on the inlet and the outlet tube end to keep out unwanted material.
(3)
Disconnect the attach clamp.
